Privacy Policy
Effective date: November 1, 2026
TimKeeper is a bookkeeping practice run by me, Tim Burke, based in Westfield, New Jersey. This policy explains what information I collect through timkeeper.com and quote.timkeeper.com (the “Get a Quote & Schedule a Meeting” tool), how I use it, and the choices you have.
If you become a client, the financial records you share for bookkeeping are kept confidential under our engagement. This policy covers the website and the first steps of working together.
Information I Collect
Information you give me
- Quote tool: your industry and the services and volumes you choose, such as the number of bills or employees. The tool does not ask for your name or email.
- Booking a meeting: when you schedule through Calendly, it asks for your name and email address. Your quote selections and any answers you add are sent to me with the booking.
- Email or phone: your name, contact details, and whatever you include in your message.
- Becoming a client: the business and financial records needed for bookkeeping, such as bank and credit card statements and access to QuickBooks Online.
Information collected automatically
- Google Analytics: pages visited, time on the site, the site that referred you, general location (city or region), and device and browser type, collected through cookies.
- Quote tool: the Google tag and the Meta Pixel collect similar information about your visit and the steps you complete.
- Website host: standard server logs, such as IP address and browser type, kept for security and to keep the site running.
I do not ask for Social Security numbers or full account numbers through the website.
How I Use Information
- To prepare your estimate and schedule your meeting.
- To answer your questions and follow up about my services.
- To provide bookkeeping services if you become a client, including invoicing.
- To understand how visitors use the site and improve it.
- To measure whether my ads on Facebook and Instagram lead to visits or booked meetings.
- To keep the site secure and meet legal and tax recordkeeping requirements.
I do not sell your personal information, and I do not use it for anything unrelated to these purposes.
Google Analytics and Cookies
This site uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service from Google. Google Analytics uses cookies (small files stored in your browser) to count visits and show me how people use the site, such as which pages are viewed and for how long. I see summary reports, and I do not send Google your name, email address, or other information that identifies you.
Google may use the data it collects as described in How Google uses data when you use our partners’ sites or apps.
The quote tool also uses the Google tag and the Meta Pixel to measure visits and completed steps. I advertise on Facebook and Instagram, and the Meta Pixel helps show those ads to people who visited. Third parties, including Google and Meta, may use cookies and similar technologies to collect information about your activity on this site and other sites over time, and use it to measure and target ads.
You can limit this:
- Block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
- Install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
- Turn off personalized Google ads in Google Ads Settings.
- Opt out of interest-based ads from participating companies through the Digital Advertising Alliance or the Network Advertising Initiative.
- Manage your Meta ad preferences in your Facebook or Instagram settings.
Google Sign-In and Google User Data
The TimKeeper client portal lets clients sign in with their Google account. When you sign in with Google, I receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google and use them only to create your portal account and let you sign in.
I do not use Google user data for advertising, and I do not sell it. I share it only as needed to run the portal, when the law requires it, or with your permission. You can remove TimKeeper’s access at any time in your Google Account permissions.
TimKeeper’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Services I Use and How Information Is Shared
I share information only with the services I use to run TimKeeper, and only what each one needs. Each service has its own privacy policy.

How Long I Keep Information and How I Protect It
- Inquiries and meeting requests that do not lead to work: kept for up to 2 years, then deleted.
- Client records: kept during the engagement and for 7 years after, to meet tax and recordkeeping requirements.
- Google Analytics data: kept for 14 months, the longest standard setting in Google Analytics.
Every account that holds client information uses two-step verification and a password manager, and I review access logs. Client documents are uploaded through a shared Google Drive folder or the client portal.
No method of storing or sending information is completely secure. If a breach affects your personal information, I will notify you as the law requires.
Your Choices
- Cookies and ads: see Google Analytics and Cookies above.
- Emails: you can ask me to stop contacting you at any time.
- See, correct, or delete your information: email Tim@TimKeeper.com and I will respond within 30 days. I may keep records the law requires me to keep.
- Do Not Track: some browsers send a “Do Not Track” signal. This site does not currently respond to it. The opt-outs above are how you can limit tracking.
Children
This site is for business owners and is not directed to children under 13. I do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to This Policy
When I change this policy, I update the effective date at the top. For major changes, I also post a notice on the site.
